Variable Air Volume (VAV) Systems

AAON Controls for VAV Systems save building owners money with efficient design and operation.

VAV systems typically consist of a cooling-only HVAC unit and VAV terminal units with preheat coils located in the downstream ductwork that control the volume and temperature of air delivered to the various building zones. The HVAC unit may have gas or electric heat, but it is typically sized and applied for morning warm-up purposes or warming outdoor air during colder economizer operations.

Variable Air Volume (VAV) Systems

  • The Challenge

Varying the air flow to maintain a constant temperature for fan energy savings, as well as precise temperature and humidity control.

  • The Solution

    AAON VAV Systems Provide:

    • Precise temperature control in each space or zone
    • Lower fan speeds for lower energy consumption and less fan noise
    • AAON Controls ties the building controls, unit controls, and VAV boxes all together, for easy maintenance and service.
    • AAON Controls available for VAV systems and Zoning systems, with a networked system capable of connecting 3500 controllers.
    • AAON Selection process makes it easy to find all the necessary components for successful VAV operation.
